Real reviews from people who own these guns“It's a good little pocket gun. Has a really long trigger pull but with no safety thats a good thing. Folks with larger hands might want to put it in a pocket holster. Over all the size is good for pocket carry and its hard to beat the price.”
Ruger LCP Compact .380 ACP Black Pistol★ 4.7 · 567 reviews“This was my first Walther PPS M2 LE. The pistol performed as I had hoped and expected. All three magazines fit nicely and ejected easily. I look forward to experimenting with different brands of ammo. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.”
Walther PPS M2 9mm Pistol, LE Edition, Night Sights★ 4.9 · 308 reviews“Feels nice and solid, I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet but I sure will be tomorrow to see how it feels to shoot it. I done had the g2s and g2c now I got the g3c”

Taurus PT92 Full-Size DA/SA 9mm Stainless Pistol★ 4.8 · 213 reviews“I was hesitant to buy this Taurus at first but after I put a little over 400 rounds of different brands of ammunition through it I was impressed. Even my carry ammo feed well. I'm former government employee and when I carry cancelled I don't want any print of a weapon on me what so ever and the Taurus GX4 micro compact 9 does just that.”

Buying a gun online in Iowa and picking it up at your FFL
Iowa is a state where the nearest well-stocked gun counter can be a long drive, and where the same guns do several jobs: a shotgun for December deer, pheasants and turkeys, a rifle or handgun for the range, a pistol for carry. This store keeps a large live catalog so you can compare makes, calibers and prices from Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport to Sioux City, Dubuque and Council Bluffs, then collect the firearm close to home.
Every firearm ships to a licensed dealer you choose, and you complete ATF Form 4473 and a background check there. The Iowa Department of Public Safety says a permit to acquire or permit to carry is no longer required to buy a handgun in certain cases, though a sheriff-issued permit can still be used for the purchase. Rules change, so confirm with your county sheriff, the Iowa DPS or the dealer. Our Iowa FFL transfer guide walks through the steps, and the Iowa gun laws guide lists the statutes we used.
For the woods and fields, the Iowa DNR 2026-27 deer seasons include youth and disabled hunter, early muzzleloader, two shotgun seasons in December and a late muzzleloader season. Shotguns, handguns with a barrel of at least 4 inches and certain straight-wall or necked-down rifle cartridges are legal in the gun seasons, so read the deer season guide and check the current DNR regulations for your county before you buy. Looking for a place to sign in and shoot? The public range guide lists DNR ranges such as Banner near Indianola and Butch Olofson near Polk City. Ammunition, optics, magazines and parts ship to your door where legal, and each page on our Iowa city index covers local hunting ground and the nearest DNR range.
