Serial no. 35965. Manufactured circa 1941 by Toyo Kogyo under Hiroshima Arsenal supervision, chambered in 7.7x58mm Japanese, 26″ round barrel. Bore is good with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are non-matching, and the Imperial chrysanthemum remains partially intact, having only been partially removed. Metal surfaces display scattered oxidation consistent with age and military service, while the stock shows expected handling and service wear. An attractive early-war Type 99 from Toyo Kogyo’s 30th Series production, retaining considerably more of the fit and finish associated with early Japanese wartime manufacture than later simplified examples. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
